    Description

    Mushroom farmers have been using mostly saw-dust as substrates for planting their mushrooms but there are other areas that are yet untapped, which is the use of straw, especially rice straw. This course will introduce mushroom as a means of providing income for business and for home farming. This course will introduce Oyster mushroom using straws and the various substrates that can help in mushroom production.  The course will further identify the various types of mushroom that are common within our community and which will focus on Oyster mushroom which is accepted worldwide.

    This course will further identify various reasons why you should start or venture in mushroom production either for home consumption or commercial purposes. This will also lead to point out the health benefits of consuming mushroom. The precaution is also not left out, because without identifying the precautions or the do’s and don’ts in mushroom production, it will becomes difficult to know when you are getting a bad output.
